Mr Springside shows Edinburgh the “Green Green Grass of Home”

Last week, an attention-grabbing new campaign was launched to mark our £200 million regeneration of Fountainbridge, one of Edinburgh’s most historic city-centre quarters.
“Fountainbridge Comes Alive!” celebrates the next phase of the successful transformation of an area once known for being the city’s industrial powerhouse into a modern city-centre neighbourhood.
Central to the campaign is the promotion of the Springside development, the main driving force behind the area’s transformation. When complete, Springside will provide 600 new homes together with shops, parks, restaurants and offices all spread over the 10-acre former Scottish and Newcastle brewery’s bottling site.
The campaign follows the launch of Springside’s latest homes phase, The Foundry, which has already led to a huge surge of interest in the area.
Bringing the campaign to life is ‘Mr Springside’, an eye-catching character sporting a distinctive grass suit, who has been turning heads in the Capital this past week.
We want to show how Fountainbridge is changing - and to mark a new chapter in the fascinating evolution of the area. We are creating a new destination for Edinburgh. Fountainbridge is now a vibrant community and we are literally bringing it to life through our creation of Mr Springside, whose job it will be to tell the rest of the city just how great it is to live in the area.
