Edinburgh voted as Condé Nast Traveller's second favourite city
« Back to latest news
Condé Nast Traveller readers have voted Edinburgh as their second favourite city in the UK, continuing the Scottish Capital’s impressive track record in the competition.
Although Edinburgh narrowly missed out on first place (readers voted London into top spot), the city has never been below 4th in the 14 years the prestigious publication has been running the survey, including four number 1 slots, the most recent being last year.
The poll of 40,000 readers judged cities on architecture, cleanliness, culture, environmental friendliness, food and restaurants, nightlife, hospitality, accommodation, safety and value for money.
As Fountainbridge Comes Alive, with Springside creating a vibrant new urban quarter within Edinburgh, can Scotland’s capital regain the top spot in 2012?
The Condé Nast Traveller 14th annual readers' travel awards ceremony took place on Wednesday 30 August at the Royal Institution of Great Britain in London.
